# Appeasements
Orderwave makes it easy to pre-configure common appeasements for your users to use for customers. Appeasements can be applied after orders are charged (they will take the form of a new refund), or before orders are settled (they will adjust the order and authorization to a lower amount).
Navigate to to view or create new pre-configured appeasement options for your users.
# Create a new appeasement option
Click the ➕ button to create a new appeasement option, and fill in the available fields.
| Field | Description |

| Appeasement Option Code | This is a unique identifier for this appeasement option. |
| Appeasement Option Description | Provide a descriptive phrase that tells your user what this appeasement will do to the order, such as "Refund 10%". |
| Refund Type | Map this appeasement option to a refund type, to correctly categorize the resulting refund (if the order is already charged). |
| Appeasement Option Action(s) | The actions that will take place in the appeasement. |
| Appeasement Option Action Description | Provide a brief description of the appeasement action, such as "Shipping Refund". |
| Appeasement Type | Choose whether the appeasement will be a flat amount, such as $10.00, or a percentage. |
| Appeasement Amount | If this is a flat appeasement, enter a currency amount as a decimal. If this is a percentage-based appeasement, enter a percentage as a decimal, where 1.0 is 100%, and 0.2 is 20%. |
| Applies To | Choose whether the appeasement action will apply to the items on the order, or the shipping on the order. |
| Allowed Prior To Capture | Choose whether this appeasement option is available to users if the order is currently authorized, but not yet captured. |
You can create additional appeasement option actions, for example, if you want to give a 10% refund on items, and a 100% refund on shipping.
