# Magento

Orderwave is pre-integrated with Magento (Version 2.x) REST API. This helps facilitate a 2-way data-flow for synchronizing:

  • Catalog (products and inventory items / SKUs)
  • Inventory quantities (current stock levels)
  • Orders (order import into Orderwave)
  • Tracking numbers and shipment status (update Magento with current shipment status)
  • Returns and refunds

# Inventory

The Magento connector can create your inventory for you, by connecting to your Magento site, reading the product data, and creating inventory item feeds to your Orderwave instance. Remember, that you need inventory before you can create products, and you need products before you can create (or import) orders.

TIP

Catalog data is very important in your Orderwave instance. You can work with one of our implementation experts to guide you to the best catalog data strategy to use for your company.

To import inventory from Magento, navigate to your Magento connector, and click the "Get Inventory From Store" button.

Create inventory

You then will need to choose the product types in Magento that should map to inventory items in Orderwave.

Choose types of products to import as inventory
  • Simple products are single items that are for sale in your store
  • Virtual products are non-phyiscal virtual goods

TIP

This process may take several minutes. Also, other product types will be imported in the next step, to create Products (not inventory) in Orderwave.

After you start to import inventory items, your inventory items will be in Orderwave's Feed section.
